All About Syntonics

Syntonics (aka optometric phototherapy) is a branch of ocular science that deals with selected light frequencies through your eyes. It has been used in optometry for more than 70 years to treat a myriad of visual dysfunctions, including:
  • Amblyopia
  • Convergence problems
  • Strabismus
  • Traumatic brain injuries
  • Vision-related learning disorders
Syntonics improves vision problems such as convergence insufficiency in NJ by balancing your body's sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. The sympathetic nervous system is stimulated by the yellow, orange, and red ends of the spectrum and the parasympathetic is stimulated by blue, indigo, and violet end. Green will stimulate both systems equally.

Visual dysfunctions can be related to both the eyes and the part of the brain that processes what you see. By applying certain frequencies of light through the eyes, the theory is that an individual can restore balance within the brain and directly affect the source of certain visual dysfunctions.

Are you experiencing convergence insufficiency in DE or any of the other dysfunctions treated with syntonics? To determine if you are a candidate for syntonics, call Vision and Learning Center at (610) 477-3794 to schedule a consultation. Our family-owned center has served Collegeville, PA and the surrounding areas since 2000.
